Yerali Galvan Gonzalez, 26, has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian freeway collision that took place in Woodland Hills on November 21. Ms. Gonzalez was driving a Toyota Scion at roughly 5:00 a.m. heading westward on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles. Her car crashed into the center divider in the vicinity of the DeSoto off-ramp and for unknown reasons she got out of the car. A Nissan Frontier pickup truck that was heading in her direction struck here, giving the young woman fatal injuries. The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Van Nuys resident Rufino Batres Moran, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Three lanes of the freeway were closed for the investigation, impacting traffic on the 101 and throughout the western San Fernando Valley area.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
