William Hester Sr., has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian accident that occurred on October 1 in McClellan Park. Mr. Hester, 73, was crossing at the intersection of Palm Street and Arnold Avenue when he was allegedly struck by a Toyota Tacoma driven by William Nathaniel Beasley, 70. Reports indicate that Mr. Hester pushed his wife, who was walking beside him when he pushed her out of harm’s way. Authorities say that Mr. Beasley fled the scene and did not stop to help. He has been charged with felony manslaughter after being located by the California Highway Patrol.
