Wally Driskell has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an automotive collision that took place on November 27 in Oakley. Mr. Driskell, a 69-year-old Bethel Island resident,  was driving on Bethel Island Road at about 6:00 p.m. when the Dodge he was driving collided with another vehicle which contained two individuals, one of them a pregnant woman. Both occupants of the other car received relatively minor injuries. However, Mr. Driskell had to be removed from car with the Jaws of Life. The man was taken by air to John Muir Medical Center in nearby Walnut Creek for emergency treatment but Mr. Driskell succumbed to his injuries not long afterwards. A DUI is not suspected by authorities. The tragic accident remains under investigation, however.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this very difficult time.
