W. John Spencer of Placerville has been identified as the deceased victim in a Palo Alto small plane crash that took place the morning of August 28. Mr. Spencer was flying as a volunteer for a charitable organization called Angel Flight West. He was taking two individuals, a mother and a daughter, to an area hospital at the time of the accident. The Mooney M20J plane ran into difficulties landing at Palo Alto Airport and maneuvers to correct the landing failed as the vehicle crashed into a nearby body of water. The pilot died in the plane’s cockpit. The injured women, Nancy Dellamaria, and her daughter, Chloe King were found and taken to a nearby trauma center. The accident is currently under investigation by authorities.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
