Virl Greir has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian collision involving a wheelchair that took place in Marina on January 21. Mr. Greir, a 76-year-old local resident who may have been suffering from an illness, was crossing at the corner of Imjin Parkway and 3rd Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. in a wheelchair when he was hit by a vehicle under circumstances that have not been fully described. First-responders took Mr. Greir to an hospital in in Salinas where he passed away shortly afterward.
