Troy Alan Woods has been identified by authorities as the victim in a fatal pedestrian collision that took place in a parking lot in the Midway District neighborhood of San Diego on February 5. Mr. Woods, 57, was on foot in the parking lot of the Home Depot location on Sports Arena Boulevard at roughly 4:00 p.m. when he was struck by a Toyota Prius driven by an 80-year-old man who remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. First responders took Mr. Woods to UC San Diego Medical Center. He died on February 7 after doctors had diagnosed him with a very severe level of head trauma. The tragic incident remains under investigation.
