Tanya Gil, a 31-year-old Hemet resident, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a truck and SUV collision that occurred on January 30 in Moreno Valley. Ms. Gil was a passenger in an SUV that had been reported stolen, a 1998 Dodge Durango apparently owned by an individual in Victorville. The Durango reportedly became involved in a head-on collision with a large Volvo commercial truck on Gilman Springs Road. The SUV had reportedly entered the opposite lane to some degree. Both Ms. Gil and the 30-year-old driver of the SUV, Issa Mojaddidi, were thrown from the SUV. Both Ms. Gil and Mr. Mojaddidi, who was badly injured, were thrown onto the road by the force of the collision. The case is being investigated and authorities are not ruling out that a DUI may have been a factor. The driver of the truck reportedly escaped unscathed from the incident.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time.
