Susanna Ramirez has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian collision that occurred on April 16 in East Los Angeles. Ms. Ramirez was reportedly walking a crosswalk at the intersection of Whittier Blvd. and Fraser Avenue at approximately 10:00 p.m. when she was struck by a minivan, thought to be a gray or silver Honda Odyssey from the mid-to-late 2000s. The vehicle left the scene without stopping. The woman was taken by first responders to County-USC Medical Center but she perished from her injuries later in the week. Witnesses are being sought by the East Los Angeles office of the California Highway Patrol. Ms. Ramirez was a 29-year-old resident of East Los Angeles.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
