Sienna Diaz, a 21-year old Los Olivos resident has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a solo car on June 18th. Another occupant of the car was also severely injured, authorities say, Chelsee L. Fuerch, a 22-year-old resident of Santa Maria. Ms. Diaz and Ms. Fuerch were on the outskirts of Los Olivos on Figueroa Mountain Road at around 5:30 p.m. Ms. Diaz was driving a car described as a 1998 Toyota Corolla when the car went off the road. Authorities say an apparently unsafe turning move proved deadly as the Toyota fell into an embankment. First responders were able to remove the young women from the car, but Ms. Diaz died from her injuries at the scene. Ms. Fuerch was taken to a Santa Barbara hospital, where she is reportedly being treated for very serious injuries. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the tragedy.
