Authorities have identified Shanilka Mapatuna, 23, as the victim of a wrong-way collision that occurred on Highway 60, after another vehicle traveled west for several minutes in the eastbound lanes. The California Highway Patrol received several calls about the wrong way driver, but unfortunately were not able to intercept the vehicle before the crash occurred.

The wrong-way driver suffered major injuries, and is not currently under arrest, but may face charges depending on the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
