Runhild Wiegand, an 83-year-old Austrian national, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a solo automotive collision that took place on November 28 near El Cariso in the Lake Elsinore area. Details of the tragic collision are scant, but Ms. Wiegand was apparently in a vehicle prior to 9:05 p.m. on Ortega Highway when the accident took place. First responders arrived but the elderly woman died at the scene. The incident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
