Ruby Campbell and Hart Madison Campbell, a sister and brother age 17 and 14 respectively, have been identified by authorities as the deceased in am alleged DUI accident that occurred on June 12 in Morongo Valley. The siblings were passengers in a Toyota Prius driven by their father, 49-year-old father, Colin Campbell. The Prius was headed east on Highway 62 at around 10:30 p.m. when it attempted to make a left turn into a convenience store parking lot. It was struck by a Ford Fiesta which authorities say was travelling at an excessive speed. Both youngsters were taken to areas hospitals but both sadly passed on by the morning. Their mother, television writer Gail Lerner (Blackish, Will and Grace) was also in the care. Both she and Mr. Campbell, a television director, were also seriously injured and hospitalized. The driver of the Festiva was allegedly a repeat DUI offender with a suspended license. The tragic incident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
