Rosa Lua has been identified by authorities as the victim in a suspected DUI collision that occurred on March 20 in Santa Rosa. Ms. Lua, a 45-year-old Windsor resident, was driving a Honda Civic on the 101 at approximately 11 p.m. when the car was reportedly rear-ended by a Ford Fusion. The impact reportedly forced the car off the road where it overturned after crashing into a guardrail. Authorities allege that the driver of the Fusion was Fernando Aguilera, a 31-year-old Santa Rosa resident, who they say failed a sobriety test. Mr. Aguilera, authorities say, has two prior DUI arrests. He is facing multiple charges, including murder and vehicular manslaughter.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
