Rosa Garza and Francisco Garza have been identified by authorities as the deceased in an alleged DUI automotive collision that took place in San Jose on December 1. The collision sent five other individuals to the hospital. Ms. Garza, a 61-year-old local resident and Mr. Garza, age 34, were in a car with others connector between Highway 101 and Interstate 280 in a Nissan Rogue at roughly 4:30 a.m. when a Dodge Charger driven by a 21-year-old male, Esteban Aguilar Jimenez, allegedly was speeding while attempting to pass the Nissan. The cars collided, causing the Nissan to hit a guardrail. Ms. Garza reportedly perished from her injuries at the scene. The younger Mr. Garza died at an area hospital within about 30 minutes of the crash. Mr. Jimenez was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
