Ronda Jean Block, a 57 year-old pedestrian, has been named by as the victim of a collision that occurred on August 3. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the coroner, Block was crossing Sierra Way in Kernville at approximately 8:45 in the evening when she was hit by a pickup truck that was headed north. She was rushed to the hospital for emergency care, but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards. Authorities have said that they do not believe the case involves a DUI and the truck driver reportedly attempted to avoid hitting Block. However, the incident is still under investigation.
