Ronald Kistle has been named by authorities as the 47 year old victim in an accident that occurred on around noon September 12 in Shasta county seat Yreka. Mr. Kistle was heading upwards on a hill near Humbug Creek Road when his off-road motorcycle was struck by a 1969 Dodge truck driven by Amber Roberts. Roberts apparently left the scene to try and contact authorities because she was unable to do so due to poor cell phone reception on the hill. By the time first responders arrived, Mr. Kistle, who was wearing a full helmet, had died. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that the truck had been reported stolen. Ms. Roberts was arrested for using the stolen vehicle and also for an outstanding warrant.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
