Robert Dale Rodgers, a 64-year old Salida resident, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a truck accident that occurred in Riverbank on February 13 at approximately 7:00 p.m.  Mr. Rodgers was a passenger in a 1982 Chevrolet Silverado being driven on Claribel Road by Larry Boyd, a 56-year-old also from Salida. Mr. Boyd apparently did not react to a disable Ford F-150 pickup that was flashing its emergency lights in the same lane. The Chevrolet truck hit the Ford pickup and kept driving and eventually crashed into a ditch. First responders took Mr. Rodgers to a nearby hospital, but he died later.  Mr. Boyd was treated for some injuries and arrested on suspicion of a DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time.
