Pietro Buompensiero, a 79-year-old Templeton resident, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an early morning Buellton auto collision that occurred on June 15.  Mr. Buompensiero was reportedly driving his Chevrolet Silverado pickup on Highway 101 at about 5:00 a.m. when it collided with another vehicle that was driving next to it, a KIA Soul subcompact SUV. The two vehicles went off the road with the Soul ending up on its side and the Silverado on its roof. The senior driving the pick-up died at the scene while the driver of the Soul was reportedly not injured. Another individual was reportedly treated at an area hospital for minor injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time.
