Phylis Newell and Carolyne Paradiso of have been identified by authorities as the deceased in a collision that occurred on March 16 in Palm Springs. Ms. Newell was 68 and Ms. Paradiso was 52 and both were residents of Oklahoma. The two women were in a vehicle on Vista Chino Ithat was hit by another vehicle which allegedly ran through a red light at Indian Canyon Drive at approximately 11:30 p.m. First reponders arrived by Ms. Newell and Ms. Paradiso died at the scene. Two other individuals were reportedly injured and taken for treatment. The incident remains under investigation; police reportedly are invesitgating whether or not a DUI might been a cause of the tragedy.
