Paul Alexander Friend and David Ponciano Lopez have been identified by authorities as the deceased in an automotive collision that took place on December 3 in Victorville.  Mr. Lopez, a 28-year-old local resident, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on D Street in the vicinity of Sherman way at roughly 10:40 p.m. Authorities say that Mr. Lopez apparently lost control of his pickup which then went over the median and struck a Dodge Caravan heading in the opposite direction. Mr. Friend, a 62-year-old resident of Phelan was driving. Both Mr. Friend and Mr. Lopez perished at the scene from their injuries. The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department is investigating the tragic collision.
