Norberto Ocampo has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian collision that occurred August 5 in Yuba City. Mr. Ocampo, an 81-year-old local resident,  was walking across South Percy Avenue at Garden Highway at roughly 12:40 a.m. when he was struck by a Ford Edge under circumstances that have not been provided.  The driver, 20-year-old Marysville resident Kassidy Dunn, allegedly fled the scene of the accident. Authorities say the young woman turned herself into police a few hours later at which point she was arrested on hit-and-run and manslaughter charges. The tragic case remains  under investigation.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
