Michael Davis has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an alleged hit-and-run car vs. motorcycle collision that took place in Palmdale on February 8. Mr. Davis, a 37-year-old local resident, was riding a motorcycle at roughly 12:30 a.m. at or near the intersection of 15th Street West and Rancho Vista Boulevard when a Honda Civic driven by Hector Lara, 26, allegedly ran through a red light, hitting the motorcyclist and his bike. Mr. Davis died at the scene as Mr. Lara, police allege, left the scene on foot. Mr. Lara reportedly turned himself into the authorities on February 24 when he was charged with felony hit-and-run. The collision is being investigated.
