Mark Swink has been identified by authorities as the victim in a collision that occurred on May 12 in San Francisco. Mr. Swink, 65, was apparently struck by a Golden Gate Transit bus in the vicinity of the Hyde Street and Golden Gate Avenue intersection in the Tenderloin District. The bus driver stopped and cooperated with authorities. First responders arrived but the man died within a short period. The death has caused a great deal of local upset and sparked a vigil for the late Mr. Swink. Many in the area consider the intersection particularly unsafe and are making proposals for safety improvements as there have been a number of accidents in the Tenderloin, ten so far in 2019.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
