Marilyn Araiza, a 21-year-old Cypress resident, has died due to an alleged DUI auto accident that occurred August 19 in Long Beach on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Osvaldo Ramirez-Vazquez, a 49-year-old from Garden Grove, has been charged in connection with the tragic death. Ms. Araiza was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by Mr. Ramirez-Vazquez, a twenty-year-old Lincoln Town Car, that was allegedly being driven at an excessive rate of speed. The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle which collided with a 2014 Cadilac XTS. The collision resulted in the death of Ms. Araiza shortly after the crash, while Mr. Ramirez-Vazquez received only minor injuries. He has since been charged and reportedly pled not guilty.
