Marcellino Cabrera III, a 46-year-old local resident, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an alleged DUI car cash that occurred on October 12 in Hesperia. Mr. Cabrera was driving a 1994 Honda Accord on Mariposa Road at approximately 8:00 p.m. when a 2002 BMW allegedly ran through a red light on Main Street, crashing into the side of the Honda. The driver, authorities allege, was Ramses Gonzalez, a 26-year-old Rialto resident. Mr. Cabrera died at the scene while Mr. Gonzalez was injured and hospitalized. Authorities allege the driver of the BMW was under the influence of a substance at the time of the accident. Mr. Gonzalez was arrested on two charges, including gross vehicular manslaughter .
