Mr. Escobedo was crossing Inyo Street at roughly 6:45 p.m. near the crossing with D Street when a vehicle described by authorities as Nissan Quest from the late 20th century. The alleged driver of the car, 50-year-old Leonardo Villasenor then fled the scene without stopping to help, authorities charge.
