Lizhu Peng Dead after Oakland Bicycle U-Haul Van Accident
Lizhu Peng has been identified by authorities as the victim in a bicycle collision that occurred on the morning of September 15 in Oakland. Ms. Peng, a 67-year-old local resident, was riding a bike heading south on 2nd Avenue near the intersection with East 12th Street in the Eastlake District near her home near Lake Merritt. At the same time a U-Haul van being driving by a male driving made a left turn and collided with the bicycle. Ms. Peng received very serious injuries and was taken for treatment but she tragically died. The van’s driver reportedly remained at the scene but an investigation is ongoing. one that overturned. Mr. Rojas died as a result of the collision and two other individuals were injured. Few other details have been provided at this time about the incident which killed the young man, but police are investigating the tragic collision.
