K’Marie Lawson, age 4, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an alleged DUI collsion that also injured five people in Lake Los Angeles on October 8. Young K’Marie was a passenger in a Nissan Altima being driven by Tijera Talylor, a 26-year-old Palmdale resident prior to 9:00 p.m. Also present in the car was another Palmdale resident, 27-year-old Kion Phylow, as well as a two additional children age 1 and 3. The Altima was on Avenue O when it collided a Nissan Xterra being driven by George Kokoteev, 61 and also a Palmdale resident. Authorities allege that the SUV veered into traffic flowing in the opposite direction. K’Marie was killed and the rest of the family was taken for treatment at Antelope Valley Hospital. Mr. Kokoteev, who was injured, was reportedly arrested on suspicion of a DUI-related charge. The California Highway Patrol is seeking witnesses in the tragic collision.
