Kevin Ellison, a 31 year-old former USC football player, has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian accident that occurred on the 5 Freeway shortly after 11:00 p.m. on October 4. Mr. Ellison was apparently disoriented and was walking in lanes on the freeway near the offramp at San Fernando Mission Boulevard. He was struck by a van, a Chevrolet Astro. He died at the scene despite attempts to save him. The accident is currently under investigation. In addition to playing safety at USC, Mr. Ellison was a star player with Redondo Union High School in Southern California’s South Bay.
