Kent Lang and Francisco Clyde Tidwell Lopez have been identified by authorities as the deceased in a collision that occurred on September 9 in West Sacramento. Mr. Lang, 76, was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck on Old River Road at about 6:30 p.m., headed south. At the same time, Mr. Lopez, 59, was driving a Ford Focus northward. Authorities allege that Mr. Lopez was driving dangerously and at an excessive rate of speed and veered into the opposing lane. The result was that the pickup and the Fusion collided head-on. Mr. Lopez sadly died at the scene. Mr. Lang initially survived the wreck, however. He was taken by air to UC Davis Medical Center but died later on. A passenger in Mr. Lang’s pickup described as a 73-year-old woman was also hurt and taken to UC Davis. All three individuals involved in the tragic mishap were West Sacramento residents. An investigation is ongoing.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and families of the deceased during this very difficult time. Our thoughts also go out to the injured woman.
