Jayden Arias has been identified by authorities as the teenage victim in an alleged DUI hit-and-run bicycle collision that occurred on May 5 in Porterville. The 15-year-old local resident was riding a bicycle on Westwood Street prior to 7:00 p.m. when the young man attempted to cross at the intersection with Olive Avenue where he was struck by a car police say was driven by Harvey Jacobo, age 23. Police charge that Mr. Jacobo fled the scene without trying to help. Meanwhile, the teenage victim was taken to an area hospital by first-responders and died from his injuries. Mr. Jacobo was located shortly afterwards. Police charge that he was driving under the influence and have charged him on multiple felony counts including driving without a required interlock device with $100,000 bail.
