Jasmin Recendiz Morales has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a pedestrian collision that occurred on April 11 in Mission Hills in the San Fernando Valley. Ms. Morales, a 21-year-old Los Angeles resident, had been in a vehicle on the 118 Freeway past Sepulveda Boulevard when she allegedly attacked the Uber driver who was at the wheel of the car. An altercation resulted in which the driver stopped the car and removed her from the vehicle after suffering some injuries and, the driver alleged, she attempted to get behind the wheel and drive the car. The Uber driver left the scene. At some point, a 911 call was received that a young woman was in traffic. Sadly, Ms. Morales was struck and killed by a Nissan Altima. The California Highway Patrol is seeking out witnesses in an ongoing investigation.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time.
