Jannel Monique Rodriguez has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian traffic collision that occurred on May 28 in West Covina. Ms. Rodriguez, a 26-year-old El Monte resident, was driving in a older Toyota Camry on the 10 Freeway prior to 4:30 a.m. when the stopped, apparently due to a mechanical problem. For reasons unknown, the woman got out of her car and was struck by new model Nissan Altima being driven by a 27-year-old male Fontana resident.  Ms. Rodriguez died at the scene due to the accident but the driver of the Altima appears to have been unhurt. The tragic incident remains under investigation
