James Jin Kao and Isaac Martel White have been identified by authorities as the deceased in a  high-speed traffic collision involving two vehicles that occurred in Baker on October 2. Mr. White, a 25-year-old  resident of Memphis, Tennessee, was driving a vehicle, allegedly at an excessive speed, on the Interstate 15 at about 9:48 p.m. when the car crossed over the median and struck a vehicle heading in the opposite direction driven by Mr. Kao,  a 52-year-old  resident of Rancho Mirage. Both men tragically died at the scene. The California Highway Patrol in Barstow is investigating the accident.
