James Gauthier Jr., 46, has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian collision and homicide that took place in Hemet on December 6. Police are charging that Andrew Adam Hampton, a 23-year-old, was driving on Warley Road in a Dodge Challenger when he ran over the man, described as a transient. Police allege that the act was intentional and have charged the young man with murder. Mr. Hampton turned himself in and was given $2 million in bail. The Hemet Police Department is seeking out anyone with information on the alleged crime.
