Heitor Correira, age 4, has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian collision that took place in Richmond on February 7. The boy was reportedly outside of his house with his father on Coalinga Avenue at about 5:00 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle described as a Ford Explorer, blue in color. The child was taken by first-responders to an area hospital where the boy died shortly before midnight. Meanwhile, the driver allegedly fled the scene in the SUV. The driver eventually came into contact with authorities though the nature of the charges the individual faces are not known. Richmond police are investigating the tragic accident and are seeking witnesses.
