Galina Alterman, 77, has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian vs. truck collision that occurred in San Francisco on May 2. Ms. Alterman was walking through a crosswalk at the intersection of Divisadero Street and Sutter Street at approximately 8:45 a.m. when a truck belonging to a Toyota Dealership turned and struck the elderly woman. First responders arrived but the woman passed on shortly afterward. Area media outlets are reporting that Ms. Alterman is the 12th traffic fatality in the city this year and some residents charge that Divisadero Street has been the scene of many serious injuries and measures need to be taken.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
