Escolastica Andres, a 64-year-old Reedley resident, and Richard Ruiz, a 65-year-old Kingsburg resident, have been identified by authorities as the deceased accident at a railway crossing in Selma on August 21. The SUV the two victims were in became stuck on train tracks near the intersection of Highland Avenue and Golden State Boulevard at roughly 10:30 a.m. Witness reports tend to indicate the the crossing arms were functioning correctly at the time of the tragedy, An investigation is ongoing.
