Elva Andrade has been identified by authorities as the deceased victim in an alleged DUI motorcycle collision that occurred on June 22 in Camarillo. Ms. Andrade, a 55-year-old local resident, was riding a Yamaha Scooter on Pleasant Valley Road near Laguna Road prior to 9:15 p.m. with a 7-year-old passenger. Authorities allege that 21-year-old Jacob A. Caliboso was driving an Acura in the opposite direction and crossed over double yellow-lines to collide with the scooter head-on. Ms. Andrade died at the scene while the child was seriously injured and taken to Ventura County Medical Center. Both victims were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. Authorities determined that Mr. Caliboso was under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident and have charged him with DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. The accident is being investigated and witnesses are being sought.

Our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased victim during this difficult time. Our thoughts also go out to the injured child.
