Elliot Dean has been identified by authorities as the victim in an Elk Grove collision involving two semis and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) that occurred on December 19. Mr. Dean was driving the SUV on Sheldon Road at approximately 3:30 in the morning, when the vehicle appeared to go out of control, finally stopping on the other side of the road. At that point, the vehicle was struck by a big rig, causing Mr. Dean to be ejected from the car onto the pavement when another large truck hit him and he perished. Authorities have not said whether or not two drivers of the semis remained at the scene, and an investigation is being conducted. Mr. Dean, a North Highland resident, was 30.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
