Diana Mendez, a 21-year-old Los Angeles resident, has been identified by authorities as one of the deceased in a solo spin-out accident that occurred on July 29 in Ludlow, prior to 11:30 p.m. Also dead in the accident was a 49-year-old Los Angeles man whose name has been given as Salvador. The deceased were two of four individuals traveling to Las Vegas in a vehicle described as a 2003 Ford Expedition. The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle and it overturned. Ms. Mendez, who may not have been wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the car and died at the scene. The 49-year-old male was taken for treatment to an area hospital where he later passed on. Also injured 18-year-old Jessica Mendez and Yanira, last name not provided, a 48-year-old woman. The tragedy is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol
