Debra DiBenedetto has been identified by authorities as the victim of a collision that occurred after 5:30 p.m. on October 29. Ms. DiBenedetto was reportedly riding a bicycle on Woodacre’ s  Sir Francis Drake Boulevard near the shoulder when she was struck fatally by a 2006 Ford Explorer. The victim was taken to Marin General Hospital but died from her injuries. The driver of the Explorer, Paula Drake, was arrested on a charge of felony driving-under-the-influence as well as negligent manslaughter, with bail set at half a million dollars. The deceased, Ms. DiBenedetto, was a 63 year-old retired schoolteacher from San Geronimo.
