Cristobal Nunez-Reyes has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian collision that occurred on August 20 in Richmond. Mr. Nunez-Reyes, an 41-year-old local resident, was walking on across 23rd Street in the vicinity of Roosevelt Avenue at about 4:00 p.m. with a coworker when, authorities allege, a speeding car described as a Toyota Avalon struck him. The force of the collision reportedly caused the man to pushed into the air and he landed on his head.  The Toyota allegedly continued driving and fled the scene. First responders took the victim to an area hospital but he tragically died from his injuries.  The Richmond Police Department is investigating the incident.  The car they are seeking has a sunroof and tinted windows in back as well as some damage.  Witnesses are being sought.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and families of the victim during this difficult time.
