Christopher Mack has been identified by authorities as the victim in a motorcycle collision that occurred on April 23 in Torrance. Mr. Mack was involved in an alleged street race on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) against a car while riding a 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle. Sometime shortly after 9:30 a.m. a 2017 Ford F-150 pickup truck turned left in front of the cycle, which collided with the vehicle. Torrance Police arrived at the scene, but Mr. Mack died from his injuries. The driver of the car the motorcyclist was allegedly racing left the scene, police say. The car involved is thought to be a gray or light silver Dodge Charger of a more recent model. A DUI is not suspected but excessive speed is being given as a likely cause. Christopher Mack was 29-years-old and a resident of San Pedro.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
