Christopher Gilpineda has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian collision that occurred on April 11 in Pomona. Mr. Gilpineda, a 21-year-old resident of Montebello was driving a recent model Honda Civic that suffered a blow-out on the 10 Freeway shortly before 11:30 p.m. He exited the car which had stalled in traffic and walked in front of it when the car was struck from the rear by another recent model Honda Civic also hitting the young man, who tragically died at the scene from his injuries. The Baldwin Park office of the California Highway Patrol is seeking out witnesses.
