Cheree Sowell has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an alleged three-car DUI chain reaction accident that also injured five other individuals in Orcutt. The tragic incident took place on February 7 shortly before 5:00 p.m. Ms. Sowell, a 29-year-old resident of Rosamond, was stopped in front of a stop sign on 60th Street West and Route 138. Daniel Kaseforth, a 34-year-old Lancaster resident who was driving a Ford auto, allegedly collided with her car while under the influence of alcohol. The collision pushed the Scion into an opposing lane, where it was hit by a 2018 Ford F-150 pickup, as the car driven by Mr. Kaseforth continued to collide with the other vehicles. Ms. Sowell reportedly perished at the scene, while first responders took the injured for treatment. Kaseforth was arrested and held.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time.
