Chelsea Lund, a 27-year-old Valley Springs resident, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a Calaveras automotive collision that occurred on December 23 at roughly 8:30 p.m. that allegedly involved a case of driving under the influence. Ms. Lund was reportely driving a Chevrolet Cruze on Pettinger Road when one pick-up truck attempted to pass another pick-up truck, crossed into traffic heading in the opposite direction, crashing into the car and killing the woman. A child was in the vehicle and reportedly suffered an injury. Another passenger, 27-year-old Dylan Burch also received a non life-threatening injury. The drivers of the trucks, brothers Donald and Dusty Jackson, age 26 and 22 respectively, were both seriously injured and also arrested on multiple counts. Donald Jackson has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in the case. The case is currently under investigation.
