Brianna Pugh has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged DUI collision that occurred in Hermosa Beach on October 23. Ms. Pugh, a 24-year-old Los Angeles resident, was driving a Nissan Kicks at approximately 2:00 a.m. at the crossing of Pacific Coast Highway and Artesia Boulevard, when she collided with a Honda Civic allegedly driven by Melanie Azanero, a 21-year Hawthorne resident. Ms. Pugh reportedly died at the scene while Ms. Azanero suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police allege that she was driving under the influence and arrested her on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter but was released on bond. Witnesses are being sought by the Hermosa Beach Police Department.
