Brian Crooks has been identified by authorities the victim in an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian accident that occurred on July23 in Modesto. The circumstances that have been provided by the California Highway Patrol and media sources are sketchy, but Mr. Crooks was reportedly struck at roughly 9:40 p.m. by an Infiniti G35 from the early 2000s on Vivian Road, northbound. Reports indicate that he was killed by the Infiniti and his body was then struck by a number of other cars. The CHP says it’s likely that some of the other drivers didn’t know they were driving over anything, though a bystander eventually contacted authorities. The Infiniti that left the scene without stopping is believed to be damaged and the Highway Patrol is seeking witnesses. Mr. Crooks was 25-years-old and a resident of Illinois.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
