Brett Miku has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian collision that took place in West Los Angeles on January 12. Mr. Miku, a 60-year-old man who authorities described as homeless, was reportedly hit on the 405 Freeway near the Venice Boulevard exit at roughly 7:35 p.m. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway but authorities say that the driver of the car that hit the man stopped and first-responders arrived but Mr. Miku died at the scene. Four lanes of the freeway were closed and a SigAlert was called.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this very difficult time.
